1st Class Reflection

Hello there! Im here again. Today my friends and I entered class late, i felt so guilty for being late to class for 2 continuous class >-<

1st Class Photo (incomplete)

We discussed about the 2 articles our lecturer asked us to read. The first one was 'What is Pedagogy'. So lucky i did read the article. haha. i do have questions for this article and i asked. the question i asked was 'What is the differences between Pedagogy and Didactic?'. So glad that lecturer answered and now i have a much clearer image of what it is about. Didactic is a part of pedagogy.
Then, we proceed to the next article which is the 3 theories of School of Thought. This was the article we were asked to read and complete a forum about it---> write 4 characteristic about it. (Skip this, its a disaster, haha Just joking :p)
As expected, lecturer asked many questions about this articles, although it sound scary but i actually enjoyed. Haha, Im weird, i know. All these Q&A makes me understand more about this topic and it actually indirectly motivate me to be prepared before entering class.Lets see how long this attitude can last. Opps! hopefully after my lecturer read this, she wont shoot me with questions for the coming classes. hahaha
At the beginning, i was wondering whether can Humanistic School of Thought and Behavioural School of Thought to be preform together? But after all the discussion, i found the answer. the answer is yes. I thought we could only perform one school of thought in our teaching but i was wrong. Yes, 3 school of thought will be performed in our teaching but whether more toward to which school of thought, its depends on the subject we are teaching and the students we facing. If you ask me which school of thought is the best, i couldn't answer you. This is because i think that all 3 of them are equally important, not to say which is the best or the worst. I still remember our lecturer asked one of my friend ' Being too friendly, you do not afraid your students step over you?'. My answer would be nope. My mother once told me before, we must be friendly but also must not forget to be firm, when it is necessary to be fierce, we must not hesitate. So, others will respect you. This does not apply on being an educator only, it apply on everything. Through this class, i know more about how to approach students in teaching. ;)
I think thats all from me today? I apologise if i do offended anyone of you after reading this post or even in the class, I am talkative. Hahaha. Above statement is just my own point of view for this class =] Okay! GTG! 2 more Forum to rush! See you guys soon!!

About myself =]

Night is still young peeps! And Hello bloggy! I'm back :) This is my third blog. haha, the first one was during secondary school which I had it with my friends. This is because blogger was one of the must-do-task for teens (the old times). Then, my second blog is during form6 which considered as my computer class's assignment. Blogging do brings many pros and cons, Pros is being able to share your story and experiences here but it is also the cons because its public, everyone could see what you write here..so...... yea.
Yueling during pre-school

Here comes my third blog writing about me myself and my stories of learning Pedagogy in Education, Im Yue Ling here! Taking Bachelor of Education majoring Maths, year1 sem3. I'm a January baby(age is a lady's secret :p ). I am a city girl but i did spent my childhood in a kampung. I used to stay with my eldest auntie when i was a baby till 2yrs old, as my mother was working in another state. It means that, i did experience those typical Malaysian childhood memories games which current kids seldom have the chance to experience it. I am proud of myself for having such wonderful childhood.

I was very active during my secondary school time, basketball club, English society, Chinese society, Scout and etc. I do have the opportunity to help Chinese society in organising activities too. Sometimes, i will involve myself in voluntary job such as helping out in Buddhist center's activities and even participate myself in charity run. This is how i colour my life. I own a dog and a tortoise now, both adopted. I once helped stray pups to find a warm home for them too.
Volunteer in 4days 3night camp. Im in the middle. just directly bhide the monk. :)

Everyone have life goals and these goals sometimes change from time to time. I do set my own goals to be achieved too but I'm not greedy. I have simple goals which are :-
1. Complete my study now and at least till Master but aim for PhD. As learning is a life time process, we should always 'upgrade' ourselves.
2. Be someone who is useful to the society and whatever things i do and involve must be morally conscience.
3. Be an educator which learners are happy and glad that I'm their educator. Be someone who could affect their life and change them to a better one.

Lets talk a little bit about why i choose to be an educator, why do I wanted to take this challenging task? Many people thought teaching is easy, "Good lah! Many holidays!" "Teacher good profession ah! Easy job."
No. Being an educator is not easy at all.Its a 24-hr role model. You have to be discipline all the time but not only during school time. Why do i say so? For example, what if your students sees you fighting in public? Or being misbehaviour? You will never know which passenger next to you is actually your student. This is what being told by my cousin sister which she is also a teacher in one of the primary school in Negeri Sembilan. She always tells me that, you will be surprised every time going out shopping because there will surely be one or two students who recognise you and greet to you at any shopping mall you go especially those shopping malls around your school area. And I myself did experienced this too. This is why we as educators must be discipline and well-behaved all the times.

Opps, Im sorry. Why educator? This is because I enjoy mixing up with different kind of people. I love to talk and share things. I never thought of being an educator until I experience myself as an educator when I was form3. I had a part time tutor job during my form3 year end school holiday. Although it is just a 6 weeks class but i really experienced and learnt alot, I realise i enjoy teaching, enjoy the feeling of achievement students bring to me after they finally learnt something from me. Maybe it sounds weird to you? I also worked as a part time nurse during my SPM holidays and my STPM holidays which is during year 2014 and year 2016. Working as a part time nurse or clinic assistant make me a better person in communicating and dealing with different kind of people despite the gender, age, race and religion. Some of them even from other country and have language barrier. I really do enjoy working there and I have never regret taking part time jobs as it really taught me alot.Things that will not be taught in reading textbooks only.

Different teacher have different teaching philosophy. Everyone have their own point of view on how to teach. To me, all kids are different. Some, they need more attention while some kids do not want much attention from the teacher. Some kids needs to study in a much more caring situation which teacher should always ask and care the kid 'how was it going on?' while some kids do not like teacher bugging on them about their progression and they like to complete their task quietly. To me, my teaching philosophy is based on a simple Chinese quote by KongZi which is written as 《人之初性本善》 ( ren zhi chu xing ben shan) which means everyone is born with naturally kind-hearted. I always believe that no one is born to be bad. It is based on the one who mould them into shape which includes their parents and TEACHERS. My teaching philosophy would be never give up on them, they might just need a little bit longer time to adapt themselves. I also believe that a successful teacher is not only teaching his students to score well in examination but all-rounded includes the inner them.

I'll stop here today. Do enjoy the music here. I will change it according to my mood. haha.
  Enjoy! Thank you :)
